Did We Already Mention We Got Some Webby Love? That's Because We Did, Big Time!

For our work on SFMOMA's redesigned website, Hot Studio was named one of five finalists in the Best Cultural Institution category for this year's Webby Awards. (SFMOMA's site is also up for a MUSE Award, which is presented by the American Association of Museums. Winners will be announced at the AAM's convention on April 30.)

And Dwell.com, which Hot also helped redesign, was nominated in two categories: Best Lifestyle and Best Magazine. If that weren't enough, Once Upon a School, another Hot client, was selected as an Official Honoree in the Best Copy/Writing category.

It's not a finalist, but Once Upon a School is being recognized as among the top 15 percent "of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement."

You can read more about the Webby Award nominees and official honorees here and here. Winners will be announced on Cinco de Mayo, affording the chosen (and the non-chosen, for that matter) a golden excuse for soaking themselves in booze and sugary citrus mixes. That should incubate the appropriately wobbly state of mind necessary for scribbling their acceptance speeches—limited, mercifully, to only five words—for the awards ceremony on June 8 in NYC.

Personally, I think we could craft, sober or otherwise, the most bone-jarring, earth-shattering five-word speech known to humankind.

But unless you help us out, there will be no way of knowing for sure.
